Miami's Michelin Stars
Plus Knaus Closes for the Season, a Special Doughnut Collab, and Maxy is a Good Boi
Last evening, Miami’s finest chefs and restaurateurs headed to Florida’s west coast to attend the third annual Florida Michelin Ceremony.
The Tampa Edition Hotel hosted the event, rolling out the red carpet for industry professionals from Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
The mood was high among Miami chefs who donned their finest, indulged in caviar and champagne, and posed for selfies with the Michelin mascot, Bibendum (better known as the Michelin Man).
The Florida Guide contains 149 restaurants, in total. 33 restaurants (18 in Miami) received Bib Gourmands. 26 restaurants were awarded Stars, with L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami the only restaurant in Florida with Two Stars.
In Miami, two restaurants were downgraded from their 2023 status: The Den at Azabu lost its Star, but stays in the Guide as a “recommended” restaurant. Lung Yai Thai Tapas is no longer a Bib Gourmand, though it, too, stays in the Guide as a “recommended” restaurant.
Miami’s 18 Bib Gourmand restaurants include Bachour, Chug’s Diner, Doya, El Turco, Ghee Indian Kitchen, Hometown Barbecue, Jaguar Sun, La Natural, Lucali, Mandolin, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Phuc Yea, Rosie’s, Sanguich de Miami, Tam Tam, Tinta y Cafe, Zak the Baker, and Zitz Sum.
One Michelin Starred Miami restaurants include Ariete, Boia De, Cote, El Cielo, EntreNos, Hiden, Le Jardinier, Los Felix, Ogawa, Shingo, Stubborn Seed, the Surf Club Restaurant, and Tambourine Room.
In addition, Sebastian Vargas of Los Félix/Krüs Kitchen received a Green Star for sustainability, Tam Pham of Tam Tam received the Young Chef award, and Gabriela Ospina of Boia De received the Sommelier award. Star Power!
Knaus Berry Farm’s Last Day of the Season is Saturday!
It’s that time of the year — time for spring flowers, April showers, and the last few days of cinnamon rolls before Knaus Berry Farm closes for the season. The last day of the season is Saturday, April 20 (which is, coincidentally, 420 Day).
If you want to double down on sweet treats, Max’d Out Donuts is offering a collab doughnut with Knaus Berry Farm tomorrow. The 420 doughnut wraps a Knaus cinnamon roll with brioche dough, then finishes it with a glaze, bacon bits, maple syrup, and a piece of candied bacon. Sweet!

Maxy is a Good Boi
If you’re looking for a good boi who’s totally trained, meet Maxy! He’s a two-year-old American Bulldog that has an impressive lineup of tricks. He’s friendly, good with kids, and loves long walks. He’d be a perfect companion if you like hiking in the morning and then relaxing with friends over a beer. Maxy’s number is A2352129 and he’s a kennel number 109. Maximum Bestest Boi!
Batch Gastropub is the sponsor of our dog adoption section. If you adopt one of these guys (or any dog because of the Miami Checklist), Batch will supply you with a gift card for the amount of the adoption from MDAS. So get a dog, get a burger…or something like that. Contact me for details.
Maxy is one of hundreds of dogs available at Miami-Dade Animal Services. If you’re looking to bring a new best friend into the family, this is the place to start your search. Adoptions are only done in person, and you should bring a current picture ID and proof of current address. Dogs older than four months carry a $65 adoption fee and puppies are $85 — all dogs come home fully vaccinated, are dewormed, and have been spayed/neutered. In other words, adopting a dog is the best deal in Miami.

Why not buy us a beer by subscribing to the Miami Checklist?
Congratulations to Entre Nos for earning that Michelin star. EntreNos is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami, even though it's actually in Miami Shores. Take a look at my review of it! And we can compare notes.
