A Floridian Will Star in This Year’s Puppy Bowl
Mr. Bean, a puppy from Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Loxahatchee will participate in this year's Puppy Bowl. Bean was born with only his hind legs and made his way to Palm Beach Animal Care and was then pulled by Barky Pines, where he was taught to walk on his hind legs. Mr. Bean has been adopted (yay!) and is making his gridiron debut on Animal Planet this Sunday at 2 p.m. If you want to meet Bean, he’ll be at the Barky Pines Puppy Love 5K this Saturday, February 10 at 8 a.m. West Palm Beach. There are more doggos like Mr. Bean up for adoption, so please adopt don’t shop. Bean-a-Riffic!
Watch Mr. Bean dominate the field this Sunday at 2 p.m. (pre-game at 1 p.m.) on Animal Planet. Come out to the race this Saturday at 8 a.m. (registration at 7 a.m.) at Acreage Community Park North Expansion, 6353 140th Ave. N., West Palm Beach or make a donation at barkypinesanimalrescue.com.
Rings for Saturn
In honor of Mr. Bean, our featured doggo is from Barky Pines. Meet Saturn, a one-year-old Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix — a Jackhua, if you will. Saturn came to Barky Pines with a leg injury, but it’s all fixed now and he’s a great leash walker and is completely house-trained. Saturn is a stage-one clinger — he likes to be held and loves kisses. He’s looking for a quiet home with a fenced yard where he can play and sunbathe.
Saturn is available for adoption through Barky Pines. To qualify for adoption, you must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license or state Identification Card stating your current address. The first step is to fill out an application here. Otherworldly!
Batch Gastropub is the sponsor of our dog adoption section. If you adopt one of these guys (or any dog because of Miami Checklist), he will supply you with a gift card for the amount of the adoption. So get a dog, get a burger…or something like that. Contact me for details.
