A New Hollywood Tap Room
Plus, a Taylor Swift listening party, a Miami Beer Week pairing menu at the Tank, the Michelin Florida ceremony is Thursday, and Cher is an icon
The Hallway Tap & Brew opened on Hollywood Boulevard a few weeks ago, offering its own fresh beer, along with guest taps from mostly local breweries.
Located in the former PSL dive bar, the spot has been cleaned up significantly — especially the bathrooms which offer music to accompany whatever it is you do in there.
There are about 18 taps, including about 10 Hallway beers, including the Meteroid, a 7% ABV hazy IPA that has a nice, dry finish. Stout lovers should try the King is Dead, aged 33 months in Elijah Craig 10 Year barrels.
Why the Hallway? Well, once you walk into the place, you’ll immediately know why — the entire bar resembles one long grey hallway with a bar running nearly the entire length of the place. It’s a good place to start or end your Hollywood weekend. Cheers!

Taylor Swift Listening Party at Night Owl Cookies
Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, will get its own listening party at Night Owl Cookies in Wynwood. At the stroke of Midnight, Night Owl will play the new album in its entirety. Of course, friendship bracelet trading (and probably crying) is encouraged. Swifties Unite!

Miami Beer Week Pairings at the Tank
Miami Beer Week runs through April 21, and the Tank Brewing Co. is offering some delicious pairing specials. Pairings include the Lage Me, Bro! with either the crispy Tank burger or smoked picanha sandwich; La Sabrosa, a passion fruit wheat ale with tuna tostones or a tuna poke bowl; or Nuestra, a house double IPA with the guava manchego burger. For dessert pair the Papoi barrel-aged stout with some churros. Pairing is Caring!
Pair up at the Tank, 5100 NW 72nd Ave A-1, Miami; thetankbrewing.com.
Michelin Week is Here
The Florida Michelin Star Ceremony takes place this Thursday at the Tampa Edition Hotel where Miami’s restaurateurs will learn their place in the Michelin Guide. Last week, Michelin added Tâm Tâm to its list of Bib Gourmand restaurants. Right now, 74 Miami restaurants are listed in the Guide.
Get the complete update on what happens right here Friday morning. Star Power!
Cher is an Icon
Here’s a little-known fact — I used to go to High School with Chaz Bono. Cher would pick Chaz up from school every day she was available, showing up in jeans, boots, and sweats looking every bit the icon she was.
If you want your own icon, why not adopt Cher? She’s an eight-year-old spayed female brown terrier and has been at the shelter since July. Her number is A2490588 and she’s at kennel number G03. She Got You, Babe!
Batch Gastropub is the sponsor of our dog adoption section. If you adopt one of these guys (or any dog because of the Miami Checklist), Batch will supply you with a gift card for the amount of the adoption from MDAS. So get a dog, get a burger…or something like that. Contact me for details.
Cher is one of hundreds of dogs available at Miami-Dade Animal Services. If you’re looking to bring a new best friend into the family, this is the place to start your search. Adoptions are only done in person, and you should bring a current picture ID and proof of current address. Dogs older than four months carry a $65 adoption fee and puppies are $85 — all dogs come home fully vaccinated, are dewormed, and have been spayed/neutered. In other words, adopting a dog is the best deal in Miami.
Get Cher at Miami-Dade Animal Services. 3599 NW 79 Ave., Doral; 305-884-1101; miamidade.gov/animals
